Content Overload when sharing a list

Hi

It’s good to see the larger sharing buttons floating in the left margin of all the lists, any help in getting shares is welcome… But both the original twitter share button and the new one have tons of per-populated content in them making for messy and at times confusing tweets. I would like to see Naked Tweets that only have the title of the list in them…

Here’s an example of what shows up when I use the little share button on my list and what I’d like it to look like … the 2nd one is clearer and leaves room for additions by the person doing the sharing such as hashtags and shout-outs.

Before) Sharing list of ‘What The Heck Is Collaboration? 10 Looks’ https://list.ly/l/fa2 via @organichat

After) What The Heck Is Collaboration? 10 Looks (Link to List removed to meet forum rules )

  • Here is what shows up when I use the bigger button and I’m assuming that you want people to use the bigger buttons. It looks like an advertisement for Listly I’m all for promoting Listly but each share already has a link to your domain why should people sharing also be in the business of creating advertising for Listly…

Before) What The Heck Is Collaboration? 10 Looks | Listly List https://list.ly/list/fa2-what-the-heck-is-collaboration-10-looks?utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=listly_share via @listly

After) What The Heck Is Collaboration? 10 Looks (link to list removed to meet forum rules)

Messy tweets are less likely to get RTs or click throughs… People are less likely to share a tweet if they have to erase content to make room for either an RT, hashtag or added message. Tweets move by on your screen in a blink of an eye and if it does not grab people they don’t see it…

I may not be successful but I try and make my titles standout to those interested in the subject matter and if the title is not in the front, game over. Please give us the option on our own lists of showing Naked Sharing Messages.

Thanks

We’ve been wanting to do this as well and this feedback helps. Regardless of how well people write titles, I think it’s better to give people a clean slate to compose their tweets. I think we have grown enough to not have to help people with a phrase like “sharing list…”.

Any thoughts on item sharing?

“The Joys and Perils of Artistic Collaboration” in “What the heck is collaboration? 10 looks” might use up all the room as well.

Thanks for the quick reply… and for moving forward to naked tweets…

This has been done. The tweets should be simpler now with just the title

I like the direction you are heading… I was hoping all the extra advertising would also go away… using the small buttons on one of my lists still finds via @organichat attached and using the large buttons shows two references to Listly, one after the titles and one at the end of everything… Can we get rid of all the extras

I suspect 90% of people will use the large share buttons and render the small ones irrelevant. Let’s stand up for Naked Tweets without all the nuts, whipped cream and sprinkles… Go Zen

Thanks

Craig
