HTML Lists and Newsletter Links don't work

Hi

I finally got around to putting a list in a newsletter using the list in HTML only to find out the links to each item within the list now link back to List.ly and not the original source of the the list item… Of course if you look at a list in list.ly and click on an item title it will take you to the website referenced in that item.

there seems to be no point of putting a list in a newsletter if all the lists links just bring the reader to the list.ly list where they will have to find and re-click on the link to get to the source of the list item… no one wants to do that.

Can you fix it so if I use a list in a newsletter using HTML each item will link to the original source…

Thanks

Craig

Good point. The issue is that a list can be embedded in multiple pages and when you generate HTML, we can’t quite guess the URLs. So it’s going to need a slightly complicated solution.

One option is to provide an HTML generator right within the Listly WordPress plugin - you pick a page, we look at the list that’s embedded and generate HTML for you. Maybe we can even integrate with a tool like MailChimp with a “send list to MailChimp” feature. There might even be an integration with Zapier or IFTTT that allows us to send to any email marketing tool.

The other way to do this is when you generate HTML on Listly, you pick one of the embed locations and we can generate the links for you…
