Pages not loading correctly

I’m a technician at Quakertown Community School District. The librarian from one of our middle schools is having problems with students being kicked off list.ly when they try to add videos or create playlists. A link that a few students clicked on load a blank page with a message “retry later” here’s the link http://list.ly/list/10jR-top-10-selling-horror-movies-of-2015?feature=search . I just signed up for a list.ly account and when i was adding my profile pic and click save a blank page loads, I’ll enclose a screen shot. Are these issues related to server traffic ?

Can you upload the screenshot if possible? We don’t show unusually high traffic or response times, but if you can give us more information (time, screenshots), it will help us figure out what’s going on. Thanks!

here’

s the screen shot

Looks like Ajax call to our server was interpreted as html. Are you guys going through a proxy? Can you post screenshot of the full browser screen when you/your students see “retry later”?

I’ll try to get a screen shoot when the error happens again

Also when you mention the students get kicked off, do you mean they get “logged out” or 1) do they get a error screen or 2) just no response such as a loading cursor

They’ll get an error screen or no response or like the screen shot I sent you earlier

We’re running a web filter but its not blocking list.ly at all.

Are you guys continuing to having problems? Assuming you have a proxy through which all traffic goes out, can you provide us with your IP so we can monitor traffic/errors from it? You can email the IP to support at list dot ly.

Its 11:37am EST and we have about 26 students. We have a hand full of students starting about 11:20am are getting blank pages with the text “retry later”. I’m email your support with the ip address info yesterday. I attached another snapshot.

Thanks for the screenshot. We think we know what’s going on. It looks like all of your requests are sent from a single IP address and our platform looks at it as an “attack”. i.e. someone that’s running a denial of service attack from a single computer. We are whitelisting your IP and will see what we can do to handle this better.

@aholly, we noticed traffic from your now whitelisted IP address this morning around 7:30 AM PST. Did everything work ok?

Hey there! I just came across this issue while researching similar problems. It definitely seems like a server-side or script-loading problem — possibly tied to high traffic or outdated scripts not handling actions properly.

I’ve noticed similar behavior on certain content-heavy platforms when multiple users are editing at the same time. You might want to test it on different browsers or try clearing cache, but if the issue keeps repeating, it’s most likely something on their backend.

Also, if you’re looking for a smoother way to access or share YouTube videos (especially where there are region restrictions), you can check out ytcroxyproxy.com — it’s been super helpful for me.

Hope they resolve the List.ly issue soon! :raised_hands:
